Short FYI diary. The NY Post/Associated Press got a new statement from Hillary Clinton regarding Ferraro's race-baiting/white victimhood statements:

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday she disagrees with Geraldine Ferraro, one of her fundraisers and the 1984 Democratic vice presidential candidate, for saying that Barack Obama "would not be in this position" if he were white instead of black.
In a brief interview with The Associated Press, Clinton said she regretted Ferraro's remarks. The Obama campaign has called on the New York senator to denounce the comments and remove Ferraro from her unpaid position with the campaign.
There's not much more there. I did like this new Axelrod statemnt, though:
"The bottom line is this, when you wink and nod at offensive statements, you're really sending a signal to your supporters that anything goes,"
I think this is something of a start for Hillary, but I would have preferred a very strong, direct and clear message that she rejects the racism in her campaign. This might be the best she could do while saving face, though.
UPDATE: I think many of you are missing my major point, which was only insinuated, I admit: Hillary KNOWS and has publically admitted that this shit is at least "regretable"!
I invite ALL of the HRC supporters claiming that Ferraro's comments are perfectly wonderfully great to come and explain why Her Majesty "regrets" them.
