The fifth anniversary of the Iraq has come and gone. Our Iran Mobile was on the streets of Washington DC yesterday. Check out this great photo on the BBC site.
And, President Bush was at it again:
``No one would argue that this war has not come at a high cost in lives and treasure, but those costs are necessary when we consider the cost of a strategic victory for our enemies in Iraq,'' Bush said.
How long must we wake up to these headlines:

Enough. It's time to bring them home.

It's been five years since America invaded Iraq. And, despite all evidence to the contrary, we still wake up to the headline: "Bush Says Iraq War Was Worth It".
George Bush doesn't get it. Unfortunately, he's not alone. Last week, a study released found that only 28% of Americans can even estimate the number of soldiers who have died in Iraq.
But, we know better. WE are all-too-painfully aware of the costs of the Iraq War. Thousands of lives lost, billions squandered, and countless missed opportunities.
What do you think are the most important casualties of this war?
Are they the economic recession and torture? Civil liberties and civilian deaths? An accounting of the war's costs is long overdue. The media won't cover these costs, but we will.
The American people are way ahead of the media and the President already. Just yesterday, CNN reported that 71% of Americans believe the war has negatively impacted the economy.
Together, we'll take this message to politicians and the media in a way they can't ignore. Let's make sure that we never again have a leader who thinks it was "worth it".
Please, use this diary to discuss the costs of the War in Iraq. Which ones have affected you the most and why? Then, head over to where we're cataloging these costs.
We'll be updating our Iraq War tag cloud with your costs, your casualties, and your explanations. While the 5th anniversary may have passed, the fight to bring them home goes on.
