I'm sure you've seen the news: the North Carolina GOP is running a racist ad in North Carolina calling Barack Obama too "extreme" (i.e., black) for the state. This, despite the fact that John McCain has denounced the ad.
Well, it seems that John McCain just can't get rid of this ad. Maybe he likes it that way, since he can play good cop-bad cop with the electorate. But there's one person who can: Senator Elizabeth Dole. And it's time to tell her to do so.

I'm asking for your help again because this community has been amazing when it comes to action issues--especially regarding putting pressure on entities who create and legitimize unfair attacks against Barack Obama. You guys came through in remarkable numbers for the campaign against the AP's smear article against Barack, and now it's time to put an end to this travesty in North Carolina.
Just like with that AP campaign, we're working in conjunction with FireDogLake, Digby's Hullaballoo, Glenn Greenwald and other blogs/bloggers to get signatures at our online action tool. But you know what's really cool about this action? Local North Carolina bloggers, including Pam Spaulding of Pam's House Blend and the excellent bloggers at BlueNC, will be delivering all of your petitions by hand to Senator Elizabeth Dole's office in Raleigh!
Here's all you have to do: go to FireDogLake's online tool to add your name to the petition asking Liddy Dole to make the one simple phone call it would take to get this ad off the air in North Carolina. Then pass it on to everyone you know who would be interested in ending the racist smear job against Obama.
Here's a sample of what other bloggers are writing about this action:
