I just received an email from a Boston News Station
HYANNIS, Mass. -- Sen. Edward M. Kennedy was rushed by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital after falling ill at the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport, The Cape Cod Times reported Saturday.
Hyannis fire responded to the compound after a call was made around 8:30 a.m., the newspaper reported on its Web site. It's unclear what Kennedy's medical condition is, but after he spent almost two hours in the emergency room a decision was made to transfer him to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.Kennedy, 76, was placed on a stretcher and wheeled out to the MedFlight helicopter around 10:15 a.m. where it took off from Barnstable Municipal Airport, the newspaper reported.
Being a Massachusetts girl now living near the Kennedy Compound on Cape Cod, the Kennedys have always held a special place in my heart. My family was able to provide health care services to Rose in her final years. In addition to being awed at just being at the compound, we met many family members and got to know them as real people.
Teddy has always been there for the people of Massachusetts as well as the country. Now it's our turn to be there for him.
Let's keep him in our thoughts.
