No shit. Just now. On Fox News. Hannity, Rove (& Colmes).
Hannity asked Rove why McClellan said in his book that he'd so rarely seen Rove and Scooter Libby together that the meeting was notable in itself.
Said Rove: "That just goes to show you how out of the loop he was."
Let me get this straight: Karl Rove's defense against Scotty's accusations -- and presumably the White House's own initial defense against Scotty's accusations -- is that Scotty was persona non grata?
That the White House Press Secretary -- the guy in charge of communicating to the world on behalf of the president and his staff -- was living in his own bubble?
How many bubbles do they have in the Bush White House, exactly? It's like a Fan Yang performance over there.
And for the record, you should see Rove stammer through this explanation. If that pantload trembles under the withering assault of Alan Colmes (who once again referred to him as "our own Karl Rove") then it is completely understandable why he's evading subpoena. The man could wear a blinking sign that reads "I'm lying" and it would be no more apparent.
The White House's Cone of Silence has sprung a gusher. This one could go anywhere.
