He's on a local talk show here in El Paso, and I pushed the "no telecom immunity" point.
Here was his reply.
Rep. Reyes said that the House Dems were holding firm on not granting retroactive legal immunity, and that an agreement on the issue may be done next week.
As much as I've blasted the Dems for capitulating to the most worthless, despised, incompetent President in US history, I know we have to support the Dems when they get it right.
So telephone and e-mail your Congressional representatives, call in to your local talk shows and push the "no legal immunity", retroactive or otherwise, for the telecom carriers who warrantlessly spied upon, and datamined, their customers at the behest of the Bush Jr Administration.
The talking point I asked Reyes to use on this issue is to address those politicians backing telecom immunity, asking just why the telecom carriers right to privacy-via retroactive legal immunity-outweighs the telecom customers privacy rights.
PS
You can listen live at KHRO 1650 AM, just hit the "listen live" link on the left side of the page, Reyes will probably be on the air for the next 20 minutes or so.
