But it is looking like Robert E. Murray did.
The report on the Crandall Canyon mine collapse is out.
The University of Utah study into whether there was an earthquake that triggered the collapse has been completed. Guess what? There was no earthquake.
From the CNN story:
The Crandall Canyon mine collapse that killed six miners in Utah last summer lasted only seconds and was not caused by an earthquake, a new study says. The University of Utah study, released Monday, contradicts mine owner Bob Murray's claims that a quake triggered the collapse at the coal mine.
Murray can't blame anyone but himself for what happened to the miners and rescue workers after the collapse. He can't blame Obama, Clinton or Rachael Ray.
Murray is no prize. Miner safety does not appear to be one of his concerns. He has opposed the use of GPS trackers that would make it easier to find lost or trapped miners should a collapse occur.
After last year's Sago mine disaster in which 12 men were trapped and killed in West Virginia, Murray opposed legislation by lawmakers there and in his home state of Ohio that would require miners to wear emergency tracking devices. Murray called the proposed legislation "extremely misguided" and accused the politicians of "playing politics with my employees' safety," the Columbus Dispatch reported.
Yeah, using GPS tracking devices is a cold and calculated way to "play politics" with his employee's safety. Typical Republican talking points. Why would we expect anything else from Murray? Look who he supports.
What is it about Republicans and safety? Murray blamed a seismic event, that never occurred, instead of taking responsibilty for questionable mining practices that lead to the deaths of hard working Americans.
Time to start taking the blame for this one Mr. Murray. You, not anyone else, are completely responsible for the horrible deaths your employees, and the rescue workers, suffered.
