This is from NarcoNews a fairly new website dedicated to real news you won't find anywhere else.
Socorro Garcia, a pastor from the Blessed Works Christian Family Center, an Assembly of God congregation, had come to preach the gospel to some 30 or so residents receiving counseling and treatment for their addictions. She stood at the podium in the little conference room and gave the invitation to those at the prayer meeting to come forward and give their lives to Jesus. Many had their arms raised, faces turned toward heaven, praising the Lord and asking to be saved. At that moment at least four masked and hooded gunmen burst into the room and began to shoot. According to Socorro, "...the bullets came from all directions, from the right and the left, meanwhile I was crying out to God to send His angels to protect us and I saw the young people falling injured all around me and others managed to run for their lives..."
When the shooting stopped, bodies lay all over the room. The director of the center (who has not been identified in press accounts) lay with his body over another pastor’s wife. She and her unborn child survived. The man died.
Brutal, shocking, and something that would warrant a big investigation right ? Not gonna happen.
The reports say there was a truck load of soldiers, Mexico's Red Berets, parked close by, real close by. 50 yards from a massacre that lasted 15 mins., yet the soldiers never moved at all to stop it, in fact it seems they drove by while the bullets were still flying.
"We are sure that the soldiers were guarding the killers or maybe they came with them so that the police would not be able to intervene. They had to have known what was going on because they passed right in front of the center." The witness, quoted in the newspaper, asked not to be identified for fear of reprisals. The newspaper also said that an unnamed source inside the Mexican Army denied that the military had carried out any operation at the scene or that they were aware of what had happened. Later, municipal police cordoned off the area and offered no help to the wounded. By the afternoon, the eyewitness accounts of the army soldiers had disappeared from the English language wire reports. Massacre at CIAD #8 in Juárez
This is just one of the shocking stories told by NarcoNews that doesn't seem to be important enough for our US press to cover even tho it is happening only miles across the border and sometimes even in the USA proper.
This story touched me on many levels because I went thru rehab over 20 ago in a little halfway house in Ca. The CIAD#8 sounds very similar to the place that saved my life. Those gunned down while trying to put there lives together will never see the other side of life after addiction and it seems no one cares. That is a all to often happenstance for those cast aside as drug addicts and drunks. I hope you will take the time to read this piece and say a few words for those that died trying to get clean because no one else will.
