This morning I was watching Ralph Reed on C-Span. He was saying the question about how many houses McCain had was a stupid question, didn't mean anything, and that no one cared anyway. He said Americans were interested in the important things, like the economy.
I tried like hell to get through on the lines to no avail to ask Mr. Reed one simple question:
"Mr. Reed, how many houses do you own?"
I tell you what. This question should be asked of every single Republican candidate running for every office from President to Dogcatcher. This question, IMO, has the potential to show the American people just who is really the "most like them." Plus that, this question is a loser for any Republican candidate because no matter their answer, they lose the debate.
If they answer, "just one," our response should be, "Well, now that wasn't so hard, was it?" Reflecting just how out of touch McCain is with the real lives of ordinary Americans. If they answer, ">1 house," the followup is to point out how lucky they are since so many Americans are struggling to pay the mortgage on just one house or have already lost their home to foreclosure.
If they can't remember how many houses they own or refuse to answer, well, nuf' said, right.
What about the Democrats getting asked this same question? No problem because we believe it is NOT a stupid question. We believe it is a GOOD question, and we believe the people have the right to know. In short, we open the door to point out the differences between our tax and other plans to help ordinary Americans, while the Republicans focus on how to better line their own pockets at our expense.
Just to get this thing going, I intend to call my Republican Representative, Ms. Virginia Foxx's, today and ask this very question. "Ms. Foxx, how many houses do you own?"
