As usual, Aaron Sorkin gets a great line a decade ahead of events - but this one is from SportsNight, not the West Wing
"I've been around a long time and I've learned one thing: If you're dumb, hire smart people. If you're smart, hire smart people who disagree with you. I'm an awfully smart man, and that guy is an idiot! He had you and he blew it!."
Isaac Jaffe
Aaron didn't have any pithy words of wisdom for what to do if you're beyond "dumb" and over to "complete boneheaded moron" so George is just SOL there.
We have a bigger mess on our hands than we did 8 years ago and the need for considered debate about how to respond is correspondingly higher.
