The lack of diaries about Ron Paul and his Rowdy Rally for the Republic is disconcerting. It's almost as if there's a conspiracy, probably involving the Council on Foreign Relations, that's put a kibosh on the good news from the Paul faction.
Because there is some very good news. The Ron Paul people are headed to St. Paul, and they're going to party like it's 1899 in honor of the time period Ron gets his ideas from and the year (give or take) John McCain was born.
And not just for the Campaign for Liberty and Rally for the Republic. The Republicans weren't able to purge misguided souls like the Wisconsin Dems did with Debra Bartoshevich.
For instance, the Republican party of Nevada has compromised, and there all some real PUMAs (Paultards United McCain Against) in their delegation
The compromise means the Nevada delegation in St. Paul will include Chris Dyer, a Paul supporter and failed candidate for Congress who has railed against his party and mocked Nevada GOP Chairwoman Sue Lowden in a parody folk song posted on YouTube.
The video and more Paultastic news below the fold.
The reason the Nevada delegation wasn't named until now is because the legions of Ron Paul supporters stormed the convention, and there weren't enough "real" Republicans, so they had to shut down the convention.
This led to a real rebuke from the Republican National Committee
With Republicans descending on St. Paul, Minn., to nominate Ariz. Sen. John McCain, his organization must be wondering what kind of support he’ll find in Nevada now that the national party has deemed the state party inept.
A Republican National Committee panel said this week it was “deeply troubled by the ineptness of the state party” in selecting delegates to the national convention. The state party, it said, used a “flawed, inadequate and unacceptable” process.
The upbraiding stems from the fallout from the party’s failed state convention in April. Supporters of Texas Rep. Ron Paul, a libertarian-leaning Republican, flooded the convention and essentially out-organized the party establishment, which sought to rally delegates behind McCain.
Moreover, the great state of Idaho has 6 Ron Paul delegates attending the convention
In Idaho, the state delegates are decided in the primary election. Seventeen are locked in to vote for McCain, six are locked in for Ron Paul and six are delegates at large, meaning they can vote for whomever they want
There's also an alternate from Colorado
Adams County resident Joby Weeks, an alternate from the 7th Congressional District, is skipping Tuesday's convention events to attend an all-day rally in Minneapolis for Texas congressman Ron Paul, who garnered a loyal following during his presidential bid.
"I'm going to be with Ron Paul and the people who love freedom and liberty," Weeks said.
And then, of course, there's also Ron Paul's own convention. The 'Ronvoys' are rolling. It's going to be good.
