3 days ago I did not know who Sarah Palin was, her name did not ring any bells for me, but three days later, I eat, sleep, and wake up to the name Sarah Palin. I think we as dems have really given her more attention than she deserves. Now don't get me wrong i understand She is the new VP pick and has to be addressed and such, but this overwhelming look of PANIC that is truly overflowing here at Ko's is really interesting. follow me over before you throw me over....
And yes I call is panic because truthfully that is what it looks like to me. Now i don't write many diaries because I don't usually have much to say, nor do i have the ability to express my thoughts and feelings in the manner that the diary outline requires, but after 3 days of reading in here I am noticing a surprising view.
Panic is in the air. It seems to me in my humble opinion that Ko's members seem to have more faith in the ability of the VP pick then they do in Obama. The focus to me should be on McCain and his lack of Judgment, not tearing down Sarah Palin or defining her.
The news media not only reads Ko's, some even diary here so I am sure they see this panic which frankly in some diaries is turning into a right out "witch hunt". And i admit it is so easy to get caught up in the diaries sometimes and lose my baring, I commented on some and regret it, however after reading God is in charge - Palin's credentials irrelevent this morning. I realize the witch hunting and Sarah Palin panic blogs are NOT productive, well not to me.

However, my sister-in-law is part of a very large community of voters that does not care about Sarah Palin's lack of credentials. Yes, you read that correctly. They don't care about credentials. While I haven't spoken to her about his particular candidate, I know what her belief is from previous political conversations: "It doesn't matter because God is in charge."
We may have forgotten this mindset because it has been four years since the religious fundies gave Bush four more years as president, but it is the sum and substance of how they approach elections. They didn't care in the least that Bush was incurious, inexperienced, clueless, and a recovering alcoholic. God was in charge, and God had chosen him to take care of the country. You see, it isn't George Bush who is president, it is God according to these true believers. And it isn't Sarah Palin who will be vice president and perhaps president some day, it is God. He will work through her, guide her, and not let her make a mistake.
And it hit me like "I should've had a V-8". This is the truth. The repubs are sitting back laughing at the dems running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They, (the repubs) always seem to find a way to turn our attention from what is really important. We should be defining McCain more than ever, we should be digging down deep and pressing down hard on his judgment and issues. Instead we are tearing apart "a soccer mom"?
We are giving her POWER by giving her so much attention. That is not going to help our cause. No we can not ignore her but

First, we don't panic. We don't attack Palin on anything other than her qualifications and her policy positions. Mostly, we focus on McCain and how much recklessness and pure ambition this pick displays. And we stop making the story all about a woman on the ticket and get back to talking about Obama – to people who think it is voters rather than God who is going to decide this election.
Have we forgotten that this is also an election where young people have come out for Obama like never before and African Americans have come out for Obama like never before? I spend my time signing up unregistered African Americans in my neighborhood. Some have not voted or been excited about voting sense Kennedy.
I really expect Obama to take Ga and even South Carolina and Alabama. The south is energized for Obama more than it is said in the Media. We are organizing here in Atlanta on a high scale. Mayor Shirley, Congressman Lewis and other here are passionate about helping to deliver Ga to Obama.
Voters, NEW VOTERS are coming out strong for Obama. I hope we will get a hold of ourselves and step back from this Palin issue enough to let the media vet her properly without us being call bias and such.
The media loves fresh meat
and you can be sure that right now they are digging deep into her closets, and if there is anything there stickable it will come out in the proper time and place.
McCain thinks he is loosing ( and he is) so he will do desperate things for the next 60 days, but as Obama remains calm and focused so must we. So still we should focus on our purpose Obama vs. McCain. Not Obama VS Sarah Palin.
Update: 12:57
Turns out that Palin's daughter IS pregnant with her own baby ( which would make Palin's newborn her own also I assume) and that
McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" circulating on liberal blog sites.
This is what I was trying to reason to you about avoiding.
