They also set a date of October 10, 2008, for the completion of special counsel Stephen Branchflower’s report.
I won't be picking on the state of Alaska ever again because they seem to want to do things correctly. They do not like looking like some backwater outpost that's ripe for a joke on Letterman, Leno or Jimmy Kimmel.
If you go to Halcro's site and those of Alaska's leading papers you will find a lot of folks willing to blow this off. That's tragic in itself. What they don't get that ethics violations call into question how a person will govern.
What? They liked the last four years of the Bush admistration, one known for cronyism and bullying?
While Palin is the gift that keeps on giving, it points to a broader problem and pattern. Where are the reasonable Republicans? Has a decent GOPer such as Chuck Hagel become a dinosaur?
Apparently, because after that convention this week and word that the McCain campaign sought to slow the release of the Troopergate Report until after the election, I have to say I don't see a decent one left.
