At almost every level of government and federal civic service, individuals are required to swear (or affirm) that they will uphold the Constitution. It is like the "Prime Directive" of the United States.
Since we now wiretap innocent civilians and illegally sieze and search through laptops at border crossings and such, hold 'persons of interest' indefinitely without charge, legal representation, or a trial by a jury of their peers, and condone torture- the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendments are no longer being followed and somebody is not performing their duty to 'Protect and Defend'. The President of the United States of America swears / affirms:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
The Vice President of the United States of America, Senators, Representatives, Supreme Court Justices...everyone swears or affirms that they will protect and defend the Constitution in some way.
So, if the President of the United States is "The Decider" and decides that the 4th Amendment, 5th Amendment, 6th Amendment, and 8th Amendment of the Constitution are unneccesary or do not apply to him and his administration, he (or she) has violated his (or her) oath and should be removed from office.
If the Vice President chooses not to follow the Constitution of the United States, he (or she) has violated his (or her) oath and should be removed from office.
If the Senators and Representatives that comprise the Legislative branch of our government, which is supposed to provide some measure of checks and balances against the abuse of power by the Executive branch, does not take steps to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America from these abuses and remove the President and/or Vice President from office, then they are not upholding their own oath and should subsequently be removed from office.
When young men and women enter into military service in the United States, they also take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution.
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
Take note of the fact that 'support and defend the Constitution' comes before 'obey the orders of the President of the United States' and that the military is compelled to guard against ALL enemies, FOREIGN and DOMESTIC. The primary role of the United States military is to protect and defend the Constitution. It is a higher priority than listening to the orders of the President specifically to prevent the President of the United States from deploying or implementing the military for personal gain or in a manner that is contrary to the Constitution of the United States of America.
As I see it, and this is purely my own interpretation as far as I know, the government and military are structured to protect and defend the Constitution above all else. It is the core foundation of our country. If the President of the United States violates the Constitution and/or is a threat to the principles laid out in the Constitution, the military is obligated at some point to act and remove him from office.
I am sure I will end up on some CIA / FBI / DHS / RNC 'wacko activist' list or something for even suggesting such a thing, but for the record I am not suggesting a revolution or coup. I am simply analyzing how I perceive the structure of our government. It seems to me that if there is a breakdown where the President and Vice President consciously violate the Constitution, and the checks and balances put in place to ensure that doesn't happen (Congress) fail to act to uphold the Constitution, then it falls to the military to 'protect and defend' the Constitution by removing those in power. Essentially, if things get far enough off track, a military coup is actually directed and required in order to ensure the protection of the Constitution of the United States of America.
Since the current administration seems to have willfully violated the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendments of the Constitution, and consciously and with hubris broken the laws that govern our nation, it seems to me that somebody out there has violated their oath to 'Protect and Defend'.
