The McCain camp has thrown out its latest distraction by hitting Obama for his 'lipstick on a pig' remark. The Pavlovian press has picked this up on cue and you can rest assured it will lead all the morning news shows. It is apparent that the press has become a giant megaphone for the McCain campaign's swamp dwelling attack dogs.
Yesterday McCain released an ad vilifying Obama's legislation aimed at educating children to protect them from pedophiles. Obama issued a very tough response. Do you want to wager a bet that his response to this vicious smear will be completely ignored on the airwaves? What are the odds that any one of the morning shows will mention Newsweek's article detailing charges of emotional abuse by Palin towards her sister's children and their connection to Troopergate? How many more of these distractions will be tolerated by voters with real issues that need real answers?
The Republicans picked Palin so they could play the gender card from the bottom of the deck. They want to tie the hands of the Obama campaign and the media so that they dare not attack the lady VP candidate lest they be accused of chauvinism. This election campaign is sinking lower and lower into right wing trivia hell and the media is happy to play the game.
UPDATE BELOW
Kudos to Good Morning America that surgically removed its lipsticked lips from Palin's ass and did a hardhitting investigation on Sarah Palin's manhandling of the Wasilla librarian.
She was fired for standing up to Palin on banning books from the library, then reinstated after the community expressed outrage. She resigned after two years of attacks by Palin and told Good Morning America she does not want to revisit the horrible memories of that time in her life.
