I loved the recent diary of the guy who badgered MSNBC into keeping them honest on their coverage. Interestingly enough, I had my own such story today and wanted to double-up on the lesson for us all: WE are, indeed, the ones we have been waiting for!
My sister canvasses for Obama in Concord, NH, and yesterday he held a well-attended rally there. She pointed out to me today that the Concord Monitor (local paper) website had not a single story on this rally. I couldn't believe it, so I looked up the website and, sure enough, no story on the rally...nothing on the Home page of the website and not even a paragraph on the Politics page!
I called the news desk there this afternoon (I'm in New Jersey, mind you) and someone answered and said the paper version of the Monitor had the story on the front page. Well, I asked, why is the story missing on the website? He seemed surprised, and then he called out to a couple of folks in his newsroom and then came back to the phone and said "we'll work on it." Well, a couple of hours later, the story appeared on the top of their Home page.
Don't ever think you have no power because, amazingly enough, you really, really do have it...
UPDATE: I've been asked for the link to the story. Here it is.
