Well, a video of Pastor Thomas Muthee blessing Sarah Palin has come out on the Internet.
Just in case you didn't know about him, he's the guy who got his clerical career started by "finding a witch" in a Kenyan town.
The video is about ten minutes long and contains some serious political ramifications.
Video and analysis after the jump.
First of all, let me say that I'm pretty ambivalent about using pastors as a political attack tool. However, I am somewhat of a pragmatist and believe that when Jeremiah Wright becomes news of the day again, a perceived "pastor problem" by the other side would help negate the issue.
Anyway, here's the video:
A few things struck me in this video. For one, Pastor Muthee seems not to care about potential legal issues when it comes to giving political endorsements in church. But more than that, he seems intent on born-again Christians taking over government, the media, and business. And he talks about witchcraft and sorcery.
In other words, this guy sort of strikes me as a kook. Like I said, it would make a pretty good counter-attack when Reverend Wright inevitably comes up again: the witch-hunting pastor would probably evoke the attention of the media more than a narcissistic and bombastic pastor who's already been covered to death.
