We have learned that Paulson's proposed 4th Branch of Government was written months ago. The proposal is a non-starter. Republican's have been trying to distance themselves from Bush for some time now. The Paulson Proposal is the perfect opportunity to do so. Revolting against Cheney only increases the distance. But, I do not think this is a sincere rebellion on the part of most Republican Senator's and Representatives. After all, they gave Bush the authority to deploy the Army in the U.S, to call emergencies as he sees fit, and to disappear people as he sees fit.
To me the Bailout attempts two goals. Get the early vote for the Republicans, so does Palin. If they lose, they want to lose by a slim margin so they can steel what they need to "win". If anyone protests, then the stock market tanks and they call in the army. That would be the best option in their option as Wall street would then be really happy that Fascism has stepped out of the closet at last.
Plausible?
