Barbara Comstock, the former Romney campaign hack and current McCain flack, just got an earful on "Hardball" from host Chris Matthews and Planned Parenthood's Cecile Richards.
They were discussing McCain's quote from last night's debate which follows:
"Just again, the example of the eloquence of Sen. Obama. He's health for the mother. You know, that's been stretched by the pro-abortion movement in America to mean almost anything. That's the extreme pro-abortion position, quote, 'health.'"
McCain used "air quotes" while saying the word "health", which pro-choice groups NARAL and Planned Parenthood have since publicly stated that they found to be an insult to women who need an abortion because their health is threatened.

More below the fold:
Comstock was almost as sputtering, seething, and incoherent on this topic as McCain himself was throughout last night's debate. She kept bringing up McCain talking points about Obama's "views" regarding partial birth abortions while Matthews and Richards were clearly discussing the exception in Roe V. Wade for late term abortions in cases where a mother's health is in jeopardy.
Try as they might, Matthews and Richards were completely unable to redirect Comstock back to the actual topic, and ended up having to speak over her, with Matthews finally cutting off her mic altogether in order to close the segment by saying he thought McCain had made "a big mistake" in last night's debate with regard to this issue.
It was truly exasperating to watch, but I was relieved to see Matthews not cave in to this woman who a) had nothing of any substance to say regarding the topic being discussed and b) attempted to hijack the discussion by shouting over everyone.
I am SO tired of seeing Republican talking heads (Tucker Bounds, Nancy Pfotenhauer, et al) getting away with spewing all their crap to the MSM. Kudos to Matthews for at least not giving her a pass (this time). Now if only the rest of the MSM would follow suit and actually challenge the right-wing lunatic fringe.
Apologies for the brevity/lack of professionalism of this diary. It's my first posting here.
P.S.: Thank you so much Lava20 for teaching me how to embed!! You are truly a godsend.
