What great news! The LA Times is reporting this morning that:
The California Teachers Assn. donated $1 million this week to defeat a ballot initiative seeking to ban same-sex marriage in California, joining the ranks of wealthy gay rights activists and Hollywood politicos as one of the major donors to the campaign.

I am so happy that teachers, the crafters of our future citizenry, have publicly acknowledged that
"For us, it's a civil rights issue," said the association's President David Sanchez. "We don't believe people should be treated differently."
It's as simple as that. If Prop 8 passes, so many people's dreams will be crushed. A whole group of American society will continue to take a back seat to others who seem to think that their morality is superior to all. If Prop 8 fails, what will happen to these people? Will their lives be ruined? Will their dreams be crushed? Do they think that if Prop 8 passes, there won't be any more gay people? I really, really have a hard time seeing anything in their position other than homophobia and self-righteous bigotry. I HOPE, with all my heart, that these people can be put back in their churches once and for all.
Is this really wrong? How can anyone justify denying another American's constitutional right to the pursuit of happiness?
Even if you don't live in California, go here - donate!! help defeat Prop 8!!! If we win in California, we will see the beginning of the end of the moral "majority"...
wouldn't that be nice???
