Democrat Jill Morgenthaler, a veteran and longtime resident of the 6th Congressional District, responds to the lies of her Republican opponent Peter Roskam, the one-term congressman who slipped into the seat once held by longtime congressman Henry Hyde. Radio Interview at www.RadioChicagoland.com.

Morgenthaler responds to Roskam's outright lies, including that she worked with convicted felon Antoin "Tony" Rezko. Morgenthaler says she has never met Rezko. Roskam attacks Morgenthaler for being a part of the corruption plagued administration of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, but the truth is her only ties to the governor is that he appointed her to head the state's Department of Homeland Security.

Roskam's ad campaign has been 100 percent negative, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to bash Morgenthaler repeating the lies over and over again. Roskam doesn't have one commercial outlining what his issues are.

Roskam was invited to appear ont he radio shwo on WJJG 1530 AM (which is broadcast Monday through Friday from 8 am until 9:30 am every morning except Friday till 9 am.) The interview can be heard at www.RadioChicagoland.com. The podcast can also be downloaded from iTunes under Mornings with Ray Hanania.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    •  Wow ... someone who remembers Page 10 (0+ / 0-)

That's before the Three Lisagors @:>) ... so, you're saying you agree that Roskam has gone off the deep end? I noticed you didn't respond to Morgenthaler's claims Roskam is a liar and hans't spent one penny to explain what issues he does support or how to improve the economy, or, how to get out of Iraq.

      Thanks for sharing you views

There would be no Peter Roskam if Segalis' recalcitrant supporters had actually rallied behind Tammy Duckworth.  But, maybe Morganthaler can put this punk down!

Perhaps the biggest failing of the 2006 wave was the degree to which Rahm Emmanuel in particular picked sides in primaries often against the wishes of grassroots and netroots activists.  And Christine Cegelis is exhibit number one in this category.

Cegelis had already softened Henry Hyde right up, and flushed him out of the race for 2006.  But Emanuel cut her off from national fundraising and then maniacally sought a candidate to go against her.  Reason?  Her "fast track" Iraq withdrawal seems the most likely, but no one will ever know for sure.  Emanuel has never been comfortable with the idea of making withdrawal from Iraq a priority.  And nor was Duckworth back in 2006.  Hence, a match.

Emanuel's so-called tactics is how we also ended up with corrupt Blue Dog deadbeats like Mahoney in Florida who have fractured the caucus and often sold out to Republicans.  And the debacle in the 6th district of having two candidates in a row that Roskam can denounce as being from outside the district.

  •  Morgenthaler getting good press (0+ / 0-)

Both the Chicago Tribune and the local Daily Herald have endorsed Morgenthaler. Both papers cited Roskam's extreme positions as a basis for their endorsement. This is a guy we must get get rid of. You can contribute to Morgenthaler on ActBlue.

I wonder how close the race is. Morganthaler is an excellent candidate and frankly I'm glad she's doing as well as she is considering Roskam's money advantage.
