All though his historic campaign, Barack Obama stressed that he would be a post-partisan, unifying President. That he would move past the petty little divisions of Red State, Blue State, Black and White and Asian, Democrat and Republican, Male and Female, and would bring us to a new level where our common goals and good far outweigh our differences. Well, this is what that vision looks like.
I’m sick of so many on Daily Kos criticizing Obama because he’s naming so many Clinton Democrats to key administration posts. And, after all those embarrassing months of daily viscous sexist and misogynistic attacks on Hillary Clinton here on Daily Kos, I have no patience for those here who are still attacking Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.
Barack Obama is above these petty pissing matches. Perhaps that’s why he never chose to come onto Daily Kos – supposedly the vanguard standard bearer site for progressive Democrats. Obama is bringing ALL Americans together, and that begins with casting away the petty artificial differences among Democrats and between Democrats and Republicans. We are ALL Americans, first and foremost.
I’m proud to see Barack Obama deliver on his word by acting as a true unifier, and this is just the start. And with his meeting with John McCain, Obama will actively involve Republicans – perhaps even George Bush – in building his unification of America.
We are facing times like no other in history. Thank God we have Barack Obama as our President. United we stand; divided we fall.
