What ? You didn't think he was done yet did you ? Me neither. From the quick bit of Googling I did it appears some of these new gifts jobs may pay way more than the Gov. jobs these cronys held. Condi's job looks to pay about 1/2 a Million a yr., but I couldn't find a firm number.
The article with the details is very short so I can't cut and paste much so head on over and read it. As a teaser I'll tell you Bush has 24 BBFs that he has given very generous appointments that any of us could live very well off. Oh yeah, they are only Parttime Jobs. That's rough in this ecomony don't you know ?
The White House on Wednesday announced Bush's choices of 24 people for spots on a total of 10 boards, councils and committees, and many of thosre getting essentially parttime jobs are people who have been prominent in his two terms in office.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Nancy Brinker, the chief of protocol for Bush and a longtime friend, are among the president's choices for six-year terms on the board of trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington.
Here's the link. It wouldn't fit above the jump. Bush has holiday gift for aides -- part-time jobs
Disclaimer: After looking up some of these names I cannot claim they are all cronies, nor would I want to. At least a few of the names seem to be very good picks for everyone.
A few of the other names are Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Bush political affairs director Barry Jackson, Maria Cino, the president and CEO of the 2008 Republican National Convention, and of course Israel Hernandez, a former top aide to Bush political guru Karl Rove. I will be interested in see who else got these Silver Coins for their service.
Just a few of the jobs named are to the board of trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board and four-year terms on the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. Like they say, "It's not what you know, but who you know".
If you are up to the challenge of googling and finding out what these jobs are worth I will add then to this diary as found. Please include a link to your source.
Here is the Official List:
