Sarah Palin attempted to frame her candidacy for Vice President as a cause for feminists who could propell Palin to break the highest glass ceiling (this was until feminists realized Palin is the antithesis for everything we stand for). But, surprise! Palin, in her latest interview with wingnut John Ziegler appears to be pretty bitter towards successful women like Katie Couric and Tina Fey. Source
"I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year and Katie Couric’s ratings have risen," she said. "And I know that a lot of people are capitalizing on, oh I don’t know, perhaps some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration. That’s a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society."
Translation: "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women."
Not to be outdone, our favorite "feminist" and neighborhood sociologist Sarah Palin believes that Caroline Kennedy is being treated better by the media, and Palin believes it's because Kennedy is of a higher social class. This begs the question: Sarah Palin, what sources do you read? Evidently, Palin missed widespread coverage of Congressman Ackerman comparing Kennedy to J.Lo.
Now let's turn this into something constructive-- this interview provides a few clues about how she's going to run in 2012. She will frame her candidacy as a crusade for the average women, and I believe that she will use Kennedy to typify the average female liberal, especially if Kennedy gets the Senate seat.
By that time, there's no doubt that the public will remember harsh coverage of Palin, and her argument of being unfairly scrutinized by the media may gain widespread traction. Instead of letting the water get murky three years from now which allows her to revise what actually transpired in 2008, we must be proactive!
A way to start pre-empting Sarah Palin is by not let the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act become just a passing headline in the weeks ahead.
