This was originally posted on my MySpace page (it's the 1st on my Blogroll) on 1/13...it is simply 10 things I want to talk about at a time...enjoy!
So a new year has dawned and in just a week we will have a new President so it begs the question...what will 2009 be like?...I bet it will be a lot like 2008...just different...so here we go with the 10 questions I need answered in 2009...
- Does in advent of global warming, does that mean the acid rain went away? Acid rain was the big worry of the early 1990s, but now the sky is falling...err, I mean...global climate change is here!
- What will the financial outlook be come this time next year? Are we really headed for another Great Depression considering we haven't had but 2 recessions since Reagan left office...
- Will there ever be peace the "Holy Land"? Israel wants to stop terrorism, any Palestinian will tell you there has been 50+ years of it from the Israelis, and there is that undercurrent of 3 major religions that can't get along...
- Which Bush was the worse President? HW squandered a huge diplomatic victory in Iraq, because he couldn't admit the economy was in trouble and his son W decided to invade again, this time without any major support except from the UK...then couldn't stop the economic roller coaster in time to save the country from several painful months in 2008...
- Will the push for alternative energy bear fruit or die because gasoline is back under $2? I hope that a car is commonplace that can get around town without gas by 2012...and gasoline as we know it is gone by 2025
- Will California finally change its laws to stop all of these votes on issues that a majority vote should happen? The reason Prop 8 passed was fear and intimatdation from far-right forces trying to legislate morality...they need to seriously look into making it more difficult to get propositions on the ballot in the Golden State...
- How long will it be before there is a compromise on this "gay marriage" thing? I mean really what is everyone so afraid of?
- Can we tone down the rhetoric on both sides of the aisle? With the President, it is possible to turn the page on the Clinton era sniping from both sides...it's not Democrats and Republicans...it's Americans
- How much more time will it take for people to understand that Paris Hilton and the like are not people we should worship and follow around? Do I really need to know what Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are doing in their lives? (Now, Winona Ryder...that's a different story {joy!})
- and finally (settle down) can we finally end "American Idol"? Seriously...like now!
