While I don't agree with what these young ladies allegedly did there has to be some sense of proportion here.

NATCHEZ, Miss. - A Wal-Mart employee in Mississippi is accused of rolling back prices - way back - on about $550 worth of merchandise.
Natchez Police say 20-year-old Erica Marie Jones was arrested Thursday and charged with theft, along with 22-year-old customer Tiffany Williams.

Think these girls need either Bernie Madoff's Judge and/or Attorney's?

Police say Jones charged Williams $5.25 for a load of merchandise that included seven pairs of jeans, a baby crib, laundry detergent, diapers, pizza, coffee and beef.
The actual total of the haul would have been $547.50.
The two women were being held Friday without bond pending court appearances. It was not immediately known if they had retained attorneys.

Look, I believe thieves usually deserve whatever they get, but Damn! Madoff steals BILLIONS, wiping out countless retirements, and gets to await trial in an upper Westside (at least I think so) Penthouse. The Judge said essentially that Madoff was no threat. These girls, allegedly, steal about one billionth of one percent of that and are held w/o Bail?
Does anyone else think Mississippi courts have their priorities out of whack?
