I’ve been in the financial arena every since I’ve graduated from college so I’ve partaken in my fair share of CNBC over the years. Now, I think I’ve just watched for the last time. Just like I did Morning Joe about a month ago, I’m officially taking CNBC off of my list of things to watch.
Watch just one of his rants today: http://www.cnbc.com/...
More after the jump.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve thought about posting a diary on the blog about the hatchet job that CNBC has been performing on any and everything that President Obama has said or done every since he was elected but I haven’t. After today, I felt that I couldn’t hold my fire any longer.
I’m sure some of you have heard or seen the absolute RANT by one of CNBC’s on air personalities, Rick Santellil. Rick, probably the biggest corporate and wealth whore next to Larry Kudlow and the "money honeys" went on about a five minute rant right in the middle of the Chicago trading floor about Pres Obama’s housing proposal and how Obama’s just giving hard earned tax money away to people who are essentially welfare kings and queens, you know, anyone make less than Santelli and all his rich buddies. He then turned to a group of traders and asked basically if they wanted their hard earned tax dollars to go to their neighbor who has one more bathroom than they do in their house and won’t pay their mortgage. If you asked that question to 100 people, 99 would probably respond just like the guys actually did respond...boos and yelling. He then turned to the camera like Tony Montana, held up his hands and then yelled to the camera "President Obama are you listening". Obviously the way he phrased the question he knew the response that he was going to get.
Well that rant, along with rants that he’s been going off on all day about President Obama led to the Drudge Report showcasing him as their headline with flashing lights and the full Drudge fanfare. I guess CNBC caught wind of it so they showed a screenshot of Drudge’s headline. WOW!! That’s a feat that Fix Noise can’t pull off. Usually Drudge creates some bs and then Fix Noise picks it up, not the other way around.
Anyway, CNBC’s rants about Pres Obama and everything he says or does about the economy has been happening sine Nov. 5th. Larry Kudlow does nothing but scream all day about cutting corporate tax rates and completely cutting the capital gains tax and the women are probably the absolute worse. They carve out little things in the plans and then blow them up, make them seem as if it’s the entire plan, and then guaranty that his plans won’t work at all. Now they are saying that all they are getting are e-mails and calls from ANGRY homeowners who are paying their mortgages on time whing about using their tax dollars to help those who don’t. All doing the stim debate, all of these same CNBC personalities were yapping about the need to fix the housing mess. Now that a plan is out, they all of a sudden don’t think that government should do anything to fix the housing mess. Wow, they’re pretty much all over the place. Basically if Pres Obama things one way, they have to go the other.
Erin Burnet, Melissa Francis, Michelle Caruso-Cabera, Trish Regan, and the "money honey" herself Maria Maria Bartiromo, do nothing all day but parrot off republican talking points and quotes from the rich and elite. I’ve never seen one of them say one positive thing about President Obama or his plans, not one. Melissa Francis even went as far today to say that this week the "hope bubble" for President Obama and his admin has busted. Wow!!! Clueless, this week he signed a $787 billion recovery package to get the country started down the right path and announced a plan to help fix the housing crisis and his bubble of hope as busted. The only bubble that’s busted is the hope of the rich thinking that they are doing to get another round of George Bushes tax cuts.
Again, I don’t have a problem with people challenging Pres Obama and his plans but do it in an honest and fair manner, especially when you are a powerful tool to the entire business community and investors, big and small. If all they do is beat up on Pres Obama’s plan with not a lot of positive things then that’s going to influence the market and these idiots know it. They’ve probably got a deal worked out with the GOP in the continuing effort to carry out Rush’s wishes.
Yelling out lies, constructing a discussion panel were there are seven people against Pres Obama and one lone guy, usually Steve Liessman, to try to bat back all the hate for everything Obama just doesn’t pass the sniff test for a station that’s supposed to be bringing us FINANCIAL NEWS. Having one of your guys yelling, ranting, throwing tea bags around the trading floor and taking about having a Chicago Tea Party is absurd and we should let CNBC/NBC know it. I’m sure it won’t help since they are really just whoring themselves out for corporations and the rich, but it they should at least know that some of us little guys want to check up on the markets as well. For now on I would advise Bloomberg. Heck, I’ve even seen more fairness on Fix Business.
They keep bragging about all of their viewers who are contacting them applauding them for standing up for the "little guy" (HA!!!), so let's contact CNBC and let them know our thoughts:
