I know I'm in the right place when I'm the only video cameraperson at a Congressional markup filled with industry lobbyists. Last week that happened three days in a row. The industry: credit cards.
Credit card lobbyists are playing defense these days as both houses of Congress move forward with bills that would eliminate many of the tricks and traps hidden in the fine print of card contracts. Consumer advocates I talked with called last week's votes "historic," the first time in decades that either house of Congress has done something major to curb the credit card companies. Please check out my video for the dramatic details.
