I agree with Cheney that our country is less safe because of President Obama. We will be attacked again. But not by who we think.
It won't be a stereotypical brown skined guy from a distant land. It won't be someone who escaped from GITMO. It won't be someone who crossed the open border with Mexico. It will be someone who will answer the call being spewed by the evolving terrorist training camps right here on American soil: conservative talk radio and the MSM.
We should fear Rush, Newt, Glen, Sean and Dick, a homegrown terrorist cell, that Nathan Bedford Forrest would be proud of. (Forrest is the founder of the KKK). Join me below for a review of statements by Hitler and compare them with statements by Limbaugh. I will conclude with excerpts, with some revision, from the speech from the movie, the American President.
I don't know if there are any terrorists in the US trying to help terrorists outside of the US. But I do know that the conservative talk radio and MSM are giving aid to any would-be homegrown terrorists by turning the airwaves over to the likes of Limbaugh, Cheney, Newt Gingrich and others. They simply broadcast their statements, giving them legitimacy. Where is the reporting? This is cut and paste journalism.
For the first four months of this year, Dick and his daughter tried to scare us about abandoning torture. They both appeared on every possible network program to rewrite history and justify torture. It was a first strike, a shock and awe. They told us that Obama was making us less safe. Now we have respected generals, CIA documents, photos and interrogators telling the real story about what really went on. Dick and Liz cannot deny what we all know now. Cheney lied and thousands died.
Now that President Obama has nominated a Latina for the SCOTUS, Rush and Newt and others have been given a platform on the airways to spew hatred, lies and fear. Not only are we to fear the African American president, but we are also to fear the first Latina justice nominee to the Supreme Court. Not only did they strike the same tones in the first 24 hours of her nomination that they took throughout the presidential campaign, but their words also ring a familiar tone from those in our history who advocated genocide and terrorized a race of people with violence and death. But I don't blame them. They don't control the airways.
I thought it would be interested to research some of Adolph Hitler's quotes and place them along side some of Limbaugh's. Can help but wonder what Limbaugh's ultimate goal might be.
Below are 7 quotes from Hitler and 9 quotes from Limbaugh. Could it be that Limbaugh and other GOP crazies are using plays out of Hitler's play book? The similarity in tone and strategic suggestions is scary.
Adolf Hitler's Greatest
- If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.
2.Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.
- All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.
- Hate is more lasting than dislike.
5.I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few.
6.The art of leadership... consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention.
- The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one.
Rush Limbaugh's Greatest
- I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.
- You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.
- Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?
- Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.
- The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.
- They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?
- Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).
- I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.
- Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who many Americans are supporting for president.
Don Imus got fired for less. We know Rush is after listeners to support his $400 million contract. There doesn't seem to be a bottom for his employer. Every day, the MSM more and more look like the political version of Jerry Springer. Their programming meetings must start with the question Who can we have on TV to say the most outrageous things?
Now, here is a revised version of the speech from the movie, The American President.
Good morning. For the last couple of months, Vice President Cheney, Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and others have suggested that being President of this country was, to a certain extent, about character. And although I've not been willing to engage in his attacks on me, I have been here four months and three days, and I can tell you without hesitation: Being President of this country is entirely about character.
For the record, yes, I am a card-carrying member of the human race, but the more important question is "Why aren't you, Rush, Dick Newt?" Why would a former vice president, former speaker of the house, former member of congress and a radio personality choose to reject the human race? Now if you can answer that question, folks, then you're smarter than I am, because I didn't understand it until a few hours ago.
America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You've gotta want it bad, 'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say, "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man or women whose words make your blood boil like Judge Sotomayor, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of her lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours." You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the weapon of argument cannot be hollow charges of reverse racist. Argue the issues. Show me that, defend that, celebrate that.
Then you can stand up and sing about the land of the free. I've known these guys for years. You know Dick is my cousin, really! I've been operating under the assumption that the reason these guys devote so much time and energy to shouting at the rain was that they simply didn't get it. Well, I was wrong. Their problem isn't that they don't get it. Their problem is that they can't sell it!
We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you these guys are the least bit interested in solving it. They are interested in two things, and two things only: making you afraid of me, and telling you I'm the blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you speak to your base. You gather a group of middle age, middle class, middle income and low-information voters who remember with longing an easier time, and you talk to them about family, and American values and character, and you use fear to undermine their sense of security and you scream about patriotism. You tell them I’m to blame for their lot in life. And you go on television and you call me a reverse racist and say I hate white people.
Judge Sotomayor has done nothing to you. She has done nothing but put herself through school, represent the interests of business, government and individuals. You want a character debate? You better stick with me, 'cause Judge Sotomayor is way out of your league.
We've got serious problems, and we need serious people. And if you want to talk about character, you'd better come at me with more than a tired and defeated arguments and a membership card in the GOP. If you want to talk about character and American values, fine. Just tell me where and when, and I'll show up. This a time for serious people, and your 15 minutes are up.
My name is Barack Obama, and I AM the President
