For many of us, the reason we checked the Washington Post each day was to read Dan Froomkin's column. You may have heard that he was the leading source of on line traffic to the paper and they fired him a couple of months ago.
He was offed the job as the Washington DC bureau chief for Huffington Post and now is only writing a couple of column per week. The column for September 5 is "Paging A Different President Obama." It describes the need for Obama to take a clear stand on health care. Froomkin hopes he comes out strong for the public option.
I don' like the format of huffingtonpost.com so it is hard for me to find him without directly using the following web link.

Now I check the WA Post site about once a month or may end up there if someone links an article.
It is possible to sign up for a feed and email notification for Dan Froomkin if you would like.
There are 2,464 comments on his posting which are amazingly uniform and right in line with what one finds on dailykos.com.
Some recurring themes of the comments are: "Is Obama Listening?" "What does Obama really stand for?" It is amazing to see so many voices sounding a similar note on this complex question. What does Obama stand to loose if takes a strong stand and fights for the public option like many others, for example Howard Dean stated so clearly at NN09 a couple of weeks ago.
I like so many others, will withdraw from Obama even more if he continues to look like a tool of the corporations and the military and goes against his campaign promises on health care.
