Dear President Obama,
Not long ago you wanted my help in the Democratic Primaries. You asked me to support you over the other candidates. You told me that you would be the change we need, you told me that my support of your candidacy would mean that my life, the lives of average Americans would be better off.
I supported you in the primaries Mr. President, and then you asked me to support you in the general election. I supported you then Mr. President, I did so because our nation needed a real leader, a person who would do what is right not what was easy.
And now Mr. President, now I ask you for your support.
Millions of Americans are going without health insurance, millions more are paying too much for their inadequate insurance, and millions of Americans are on the verge of losing the insurance they now have.
Mr. President, we need you to stand up for us, we need you to support the Public Option, to leave no question that health insurance reform isn't reform without the public option.
It was with great joy that I voted for you last November, and as the polls closed and the results came in, my husband and I sat together and watched history being made. When the networks announced that you had won, my husband and I cried, sharing the moment, sharing in the joy of knowing we were part of that victory, that we had supported you in every way possible.
Please, Mr. President, support us now, stand up and do what is needed, what cannot be done any other way, what must be done, leave no question that working Americans who supported you are more important then the health insurance industry.
Middle class America is counting on you, we trust you and have hope, we believe in change, please, please Mr. President show us that our hope was not in vain.
