This is a really short diary. I am a really proud Christian. Not afraid to say it or scream it from the rafters. The foolishness that is on display for the world to see from the right wing crazies is soooo far from Christianity that it is ridiculous. I respect and appreciate all views of other religions and people who are not of any traditional religious faiths. See, I think religion is a personal choice. Personal meaning each one of us gets to choose and should not be persecuted for doing so.
Anyway, I was on the Huffington Post this morning and I saw a comment from some intolerant idiot:

You think this is unrelated?
He obviously only went to church for political cover after his speech last night. Unless, you think, he just felt guilty about his speech and that is why he went?
I wonder how Jesus feels about him using the house of his father as a political tool.

People say the darndest things when they think they are anonymous.
The President of the United States can hold traditional Christian values and still support the LGBT community. See, again, religion is a personal choice. Civil Rights are not. Civil rights are an American right. As President of the United States his job is to ensure to the best of his abilities that all Americans have equal protection under the law and the same rights as every other Americans. So, as a Christian whose choice is to hold dear the traditional values of the church as I understand it, I applaud the President's speech last night and will be working hard with all of those who believe in civil rights to make sure that we hold the President accountable to the promises he made.
That's my 2 cents for today.
