It has been enjoyable to read these "what if" fantasies, but let's get serious. I bet on President Pelosi.
It's a shame, really. President McCain, fresh from his victory over Barak Obama, was ready to bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, just like he said he would. After that, he was ready to bomb Venezuela and France. Things would have been wonderful as he re-established America to the greatness it had when we overthrew governments any time we wanted and African Americans knew that they should never even think that a black man could be President someday.
Alas, the massive tax cuts to the wealthy that McCain pushed through the Congress with the help of Joe Lieberman, didn't really stimulate the economy. Some might even say they made things worse (but those people simply hate America, so nevermind about that). It was just too much for the old warrior, and on April 15, he stroked out and died in bed, with a dog-eared copy of Atlas Shrugged in one hand, and an old envelope with "Economic Plan" followed by an indecipherable scrawl written on on the back that looked like it was in Ronald Reagan's handwriting.
President Palin took the reins of power soon after, and acted decisively. On the first day of her administration, she issued an executive order re-opening a number of CIA "black sites" that had been slated for closure. On the next day, Levi Johnson disappeared, and has not been heard from since. On the third day, Palin signed emergency legislation that shortened the residency requirements for a divorce in the District of Columbia to just 2 days, and made divorce final in 3 weeks.
On May 15, Sarah received her divorce from "first husband" Todd. Todd received custody of the children (even though he never sought it). On June 25, Sarah Palin announced she was resigning the Presidency because she wanted to "go out a winner, and not a lame duck." The resignation took effect on July 25. On August 1, she flew to Saudi Arabia, married King Abdullah, and is now known as Princess Sarah Al-Maverick.
So here we are. Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as the 46th President on July 26, 2009, and since that time, has been focused on health care reform. She's sending her advisors to negotiate with members of Congress on a reform bill that she hopes to be able to sign by the end of the year.
No one thought she'd ever get this far. I think they mis-underestimated her. I'm betting on President Pelosi.
