This is the same message I posted as an event on the OFA site. My hands are a little shaky at the moment, so I'll just post this. It's another feeling of "who am I to do this?" I guess I am, like you, the change we've been waiting for.
Clearly we need to tell the Senate in no uncertain terms that we want a robust public option, not a trigger, not a watered down public option. Let's meet outside the Senate to tell them that.
I know it is an inconvenient time of the year, but the time is what it is. I would like to see no less than 5,000 of us gather with our signs to clearly communicate the country's desire for a full public option in the health care reform bill.
If you are in Washington, be there. If you are in the NE, be there. If you are in university in the area, be there.
I am coming from Chicago. I will also post this event on DailyKOS.com to encourage people to come.
I am putting a date in to be there, Dec. 7, 2009. If someone has a better date or idea, I welcome your intput.
Remember President Obama has said
"I'm asking you to believe not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington...I'm asking you to believe in yours."
This is a good group event, so whatever your group is, let's all be there.
Let's Roll, people, let's roll.
