Those Republicans can't stop hiding!
That's a good tag line for Alan Grayson, but what does it mean? It means:
The Republicans are rejecting transparency!
Transparency is what 2008 was all about. It's time to stop hiding, Republicans. And Democrat, if you're hiding, you're probably a Republican. The Republican party needs you, go be a Republican.
You see, I'm not tired so tired of pro-lifers, I'm not so tired of pro-business people, I'm not so tired of pro-gun people, anywhere near as much as
I AM TIRED OF POLITICIANS WHO HIDE INFORMATION FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
This diary is in response to mcjoan's article GOP Rejects Transparency in Senate HCR Debate.
Senate Republicans objected on Monday to a proposal from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that all health care reform amendments must first be posted online before being considered in order....
A member of the erstwhile "Gang of Six" -- the three Republicans and three Democrats from the finance committee who spent months failing to come to agreement on a compromise bill -- Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wy.) objected to Reid's request....
A message left with Enzi wasn't immediately returned. But on the floor, Enzi said he didn't trust the other party enough to go along. "In light of some of the trust problems and transparency problems we have, while this appears to lead to greater transparency, we can also see ways that this can limit the ability for the minority to offer amendments. And, therefore, I object," he said.
It's time to hold politicians accountable when they try to hide. Stop hiding -- we're in the information age. Let us know. We're big boys and girls, and we want you to stop hiding your behavior from us now. You can continue to govern, but we want to know what you're doing.
Transparency is our issue.
