The National Youth Rights Association, is a youth-led non-profit empowering young people to work in defense of their own civil rights.
NYRA has been around for over a decade, and pound-for-pound is one of the most effective and efficient organizations in the country. With a small budget it has made dozens of national media appearances, changed dozens of laws and business policies that negatively impact young people, and empowered youth across America to stand up, speak out, and take action. It has more than doubled its donations over the last few years, but still operates off of a shoestring budget. We are going to change that!
(more below the fold)
JP Morgan Chase is sponsoring a community giving contest on Facebook. Individual Facebook users simply vote for their favorite non-profit (NO donation required!). In the first round, the top 100 organizations receive $25,000. For small non-profits like NYRA, $25,000 is HUGE! Please help us out by voting for us HERE.
NYRA appears to be in the top 100 in the voting, but it will be extremely close. If NYRA finishes 100th, it receives $25,000. If it finishes 101st, it receives NOTHING. So every vote really counts!
The deadline is TOMORROW, so PLEASE vote soon!
If you participate in the Chase Community Giving program, you receive 20 votes to cast. So make sure you vote for some of the many worthwhile organizations (especially NYRA) listed below.
