There's a big hullabaloo right now because Chuck Norris claimed that with Health Care Reform, Mother Mary would have aborted the holy baby Jesus instead of carrying Him to term. Chuck is wrong on his Scripture, and he needs to recant this heresy.
Nothing about the biblical story of the birth of Jesus suggests He was unplanned, unwanted or unwelcome.

At Luke 1:45 we read the "Magnificat", otherwise known as the "Canticle of Mary". In it, Mary rejoices that God has chosen her as his "handmaiden" to carry out His work of bringing the Savior to life.
There are many reasons for terminating a pregnancy. If a mother finds herself in an unplanned pregnancy, she might decide to have an abortion so that she can continue pursuing her life's work and fulfilling her potential. If she does not want to have the baby, she can choose to terminate gestation so that another unwanted baby is not brought into this world. If she learns that the baby is destined for birth defects and she feels those defects are incompatible with life or otherwise impossible to overcome, she can choose not to go forward with the birth.
We know from Scripture that Mother Mary had none of these concerns. She was told by an Angel that she would become pregnant with the Redeemer. She rejoiced at this news. She lived her entire life in fulfillment of this destiny. Nothing about this story amounts to a reason to have an abortion.
Chuck Norris' blasphemous statement is heresy against the correct teachings of the Christian Bible, and cannot be left unchallenged.
