In a comment under the Idaho Statesman story entitled:
Hundreds celebrate MLK Day in Boise ...
A conservative named Galena responded to this quote:
"Legislative acts are needed to improve the disparity (between whites and people of color)," William Rainford, a professor of social work at Boise State University, told the gathering which included many students who traveled from Southcentral Idaho.
... by saying:
I love my homestate very much, but only in Idaho do you hear minorities refered to as 'people of color'.

Person of color - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Person of color (plural: people of color; in the UK and Canada: person of colour) is a term used, primarily in the United States and Germany, to describe all people who are not white. The term is meant to be inclusive among non-white groups, emphasizing common experiences of racism. People of color is preferred to both non-white and minority, which are also inclusive, because it frames the subject positively; non-white defines people in terms of what they are not (white), and minority, by its very definition, carries a subordinate connotation.
