To the Kos community, do you think that the nominations of Geithner and Summers, part of what makes Obama look like he hasn't changed a thing about the financial system, were part of Bush's legacy and beyond Obama's control? Did you not know that Summers was part of the team that removed glass-steagall act, allowing the current wall street crash to happen? And he and Ruben were paid millions of dollars (coincidentally they say) after the fact, by the same Wall street companies who wanted the law changed? And does it not matter to you?
And to the Whitehouse and Democratic leadership-- Do you wonder why independents and even democrats like myself are starting to not believe a word you say?
Because you come out this week and say you are going to be tougher on wall street and fight for the people... Supposedly you are going to embrace populism, and are no longer going to take the side of wall street first...
then you turn around and support nomination of Ben Bernanke over the opposition of someone like Bernie Sanders, who is and INDEPENDENT who represents the PEOPLE!

WASHINGTON 1/23/10 (MarketWatch) President Barack Obama said Friday he's confident that Ben Bernanke will win a second term as chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, despite some concern that Democrats may withdraw their support for Bernanke -- one of the principal architects of the government's bank-bailout plan.
Obama "continues to think he is the best person for the job and will be confirmed by the United States Senate," White House spokesman Bill Burton told reporters, referring to the nation's top central banker.
I am a democrat, but I am glad Brown won in Mass. ( not because I like him, I wish Ted Kennedy were still with us) but because maybe fear of the anti wall street populist outrage will force Obama and the rest of the Dems to actually fight for real reforms, and because at least he stabs me face to face, instead of lying to my face and stabbing me in the back, which is all I've seen from the dems. I am glad, because you chose not to do the right thing and bring change to the federal reserve, the treasury dept. , and wall street for 12 months... and then as soon as see an election in which anti-wall street sentiment HURTS you, and THEN you are ready to fight for the reforms you were willing to compromise away up until it looked it might actually hurt you at the polls...
You seem to be a Wall Street sell out, and talking tough against them is not going to convince the American people when YOUR ACTIONS show NO SIGN of changing..!!!
Your other advisors, Summers and Geithner, were part of the same group of people that CAUSED THE ECONOMIC crisis... why would we trust the same people to lead us out of the ditch who got us into the ditch...
hey isn't that a line YOU YOURSELF used?
But as everyone, EVERYONE, from the crew of Saturday Night Live, to the speaker of the house have noticed... there's a LOT of things candidate Obama said...
but President Obama is either too cowardly, or more likely too corrupt, to follow through on them.
Change your actions and I will vote for you again... if you don't .. stop calling me for more donations.. and don't expect my vote... I'm tired of your false promises...
AND don't even get me started on defending the Defense of Marriage act in court.. AND continuing to fire brave soldiers who have risked their lives for this country and all they get in return is discrimination and a pink slip...
AND no war crimes prosecution.. and no serious investigation of prisoners who "committed suicide" with the HANDS AND LEGS TIED!
IS there ANY belief in human dignity or equality or justice that you actually believe in enough to fight for Mr. Obama?
