I know there is a little Haiti fatigue and donor fatigue, but look at your walls, your home, your food and your clothes. Remember that the people in Haiti have not only lost family members, many who were bulldozed into mass graves but have NO food, NO shelter and NO clean water.
Fatigue is not an option for them, they can't turn away from the need, so neither can we. Reach deep into your pockets and your hearts to help them out.
Lets turn THIS-a tent city in Port au Prince:
into a sea of safe shelter that will be a home while the city rebuilds.
H/T to leckvrea Another 700 boxes arrive in Haiti last night, and will shelter 7000 people.
Hundreds of boxes of aid flown out from Newquay Airport by a Cornish charity have arrived in Haiti to help earthquake victims.
The 700 ShelterBoxes were flown from Cornwall to the Dominican Republic before being taken on to Haiti, where they arrived on Saturday evening.
The 40 tonnes of aid will provide shelter for 7,000 people.
The boxes were flown in a specially chartered Airbus which took off from Newquay on Wednesday afternoon.
Another update from ShelterBox, h/t to maryru:
I was very excited to here from my good friend Nessim yesterday. There is limited fuel now and he can get around and run his generator to send emails etc sparingly. He is still sleeping in his car... The Shelter Boxes got delivered to Carrefour and Leogane yesterday. Things are starting to move with our on the ground Rotarians as they get settled into the situation. (posted 1/22/10)
