The WSJ has a story tonight that, if even partially true, is beyond my ability to define in terms of it being a disaster.
It goes right past infuriating, and into pathetic sadness to see the deconstruction of a fundamentally good man before my eyes.
Here is a key paragraph of the story:
White House officials notably didn't emphasize that any revised legislation should include a major expansion of health insurance. Expanding coverage to the uninsured was the key plank of the separate health bills passed by the House and Senate last year, but such efforts largely accounted for the about $1 trillion cost of the bills, and Republicans decried them as too costly.
So... what was this all about, does anybody remember?
It was about WMD's, and then about spreading democracy by use of force. It's about Blackwater changing its name. It's about Mid East peace talks, closing Gitmo, and justice for all.
It's about fucking bullshit!
In fairness, talks are still ongoing. I hate that I am reduced to cheering for ongoing talks.
