My biggest dismay when I switched from Cablevision to FiOS here on Long Island was the discovery that MSNBC could not be found on my dial. For whatever reason, NBC had signed an exclusivity deal with Cablevision, and I could no longer get my fix of the good Dr. Maddow, Keith Olbermann, and the like. It was incredibly frustrating. Well, my troubles will be ending very soon--MSNBC is coming to FiOS!
According to this quick bulletin from Long Island Business News,
...the standard definition version of [MSNBC] will hit Long Island, and parts of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties. The channel will be available in parts of New Jersey on Feb. 11....A Verizon spokesman said the high definition version of the channel will launch at a later date.
Woohoo! Finally, I will have a choice for informed opinion beyond the Faux exploding heads. Finally, my TiVo will be filled again with wise words and worst people, and I will be able to get my fill of Rachel Maddow's Ph.D and mixology expertise! Finally, I can wholeheartedly recommend FiOS for all types of information, from digital to political.
Thanks, FiOS, for making this happen. {ProfJonathan}
