The debate on the cloture vote is on and if our Dems do what they're best at,snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, they will confirm him and they and Obama will own him and be seen as the defenders of Wall Street. Oh what a lesson they have learned from Massachussets! This is America today, not just a culture without accountability, but a society that outright rewards failure and corruption.
As independent journalists continue to investigate this financial crime of the century in which the banks were made whole by their regulatory facilitators and by which Goldman Sachs was able to bury their competitors: Baer, Lehman, and Merrill with the help of Geithner, Bernanke, and Paulson this trio will have their day in court. This crime is too foul to cover over for too much longer. In March the SEC civil action against Bank of America over the non-disclosure of Merril's losses will be in the headlines and Bernanke will be knee-deep in that shit!
So we will head in to the mid-terms with populist anger at Washington, Obama, and the Congress and the Fed Chairman will be a symbol of all that's wrong and he will belong clearly to the Dems. The Dems will be the defenders of Wall Street corruption and the Repugs will be the ones pointing the finger.
As far as I am concerned, this is a litmus test vote. I wouldn't lift a finger for anyone who finds it acceptable to confirm this icon of financial disaster that is ending the American dream!
