Folks, I have been thinking. Since Obama in the Lion's Den (no disrespect to large felines) we saw how the GOP's ideas were laid to waste. Now suppose we had the cameras and news crews but this time, we had Bernie Sanders, Alan Grayson, Ron Wyden, Anthony Weiner Raul Grijalva and the Progressive Caucus.
Once and for all, I would like to see leaders of the Progressive Movement engage Obama. This would resolve two issues.
- Obama would have to disprove the efficacy of our ideas. Persoanlly, I think he agrees more than he disagrees.
- The public can see and hear Bernie Sanders, Grayson et al and maybe realize that being Liberal or Progressive is not so bad and maybe they agree with us than they disagree.
Lets talk about Medicaid for All and bank regulation and making college education affordable without the Faux 5 filters
I saw a recent poll that say 20% of Americans classify themselves as "Liberal" (Progressive was not used) I am betting and I beleive that if the public had a chance to actually hear us unfiltered maybe they would realize they agree with us more than the GOP. Is it worth it? Can it work?
Bernie Sanders has a call in show every Friday on Tom Hartman's radio show
"Brunch with Bernie" Assuming I can get through, I am going to ask him and call Maurice Hinchey and see if this is possible.
Is it worth it? Folks I think it is
