This is a short diary. I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired of politics and politicans who don't give a damn about the American people. These mofo's in congress need a reality check. They are way to comfortable in their lives and couldn't give .02 about their fellow American. Senator Bunning's net worth was between half a million to over 1 million dollars according to mandated financial statements released in 2007. The average American median household income is about $50,000. So, needless to say he's quite a bit more comfortable than your average working man or woman. And with great healthcare benefits provided by the big scary government they all denounce. Surprise surprise now that President Obama/Democrat is in office he needs to yell from the tops of his lungs to prove his fiscally conservative credentials because he certainly didn't during the Bush years.
Never mind the fact that he voted for the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (Bush's 1st tax cut for the top 1% of Americans) which was a 1.35 Trillion dollar tax cut that the average single working person saw a refund of $300 and couples saw a refund of $600 AND he voted for another $300 Billion dollar tax break in 2003 where the average working person saw a refund of $250 and couples saw a refund of $400. That was the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 (Bush's 2nd tax cut) NEITHER of which were paid for!!!! Then it gets even juicier Senator Bunning also voted for the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 or as we so lovingly like to call it Medicare Part D/Prescription Drug Act. Not that it was not an important bill for our seniors but it was not paid for and it added to our national debt. Senator Bunning also voted for all of the war supplemental funding bills. Every last one of those bills were voted through without figuring out a way to pay for them and turned our projected surplus into record deficits!!!
Now...he finds fiscal responsibility. PUH-LEASE!! Interesting timing to say the least. AND now Senator Jim Bunning just told approximately 1.2 million Americans who don't have a net worth of between half a million to a million dollars essentially to GO TO HELL!! That their needs are not important. The hypocrisy is just so incredible it's almost unbelievable...ALMOST. When men and women are living pay check to paycheck and can't feed themselves because they lost a job through no fault of their own (unless you call a lack of connections and bad trade agreements their fault)and Senator Bunning can act so cavalier without a care toward consequences is such a disgusting shame. It further blackens (if that is even possible) the republican party. Yeah...Senator Bunning...the Man of the People. I wonder if he sleeps well at night knowing some child somewhere could quite possibly be going hungry because of him.
