US President Barack Obama is planning "dramatic reductions" in the country's nuclear arsenal, says a senior US administration official.
This comes as part of a sweeping policy review designed to prevent the spread of atomic weapons.
The review "will point to dramatic reductions in the stockpile, while maintaining a strong and reliable deterrent," the official said.
He added that it will lead to a greater role for conventional weapons.

The lesson to the Obama administration is this: do not let the opposition get the upper hand here. They know what they're doing, and they will get their way. Come out with a statement before it's too late.
Well, I am glad someone heard PP and is acting upon it. Hope this President gives up his bipartisanship approach to solve all the problems and starts working on his promised agenda like this.
