Sorry for the short diary, but I am outraged! After President Obama actually signs a new health care reform into law TODAY, tonight NBC and Brian Williams and Savannah Guthrie and Kellie Williams all do a HIT JOB ON healthcare reform! I cannot imagine a more imbalanced report of the new law and WORSE - THEY DON'T EVEN INFORM THE VIEWER WHAT THE NEW LAW MEANS!! More details below the fold.
As a health care professional, I would have thought that with the newest major piece of health care legislation since Medicare of the 1960s enacted - the least NBC news could do would be to inform the public what the new law is and what is enacted this year? NO!! They say it is on their website!! What!! So poor poeople who have no healthcare or those without computers can just run to the library? Next complaint, who do we get to explain the problems with the bill? Features by JOHN MCCAIN, JIM DEMINT, and voters from WYOMING who they say are calling 3 to 4 against it. Then and WORSE - we get ONE single family's view of health care - a white family from Oklahoma that obviously has health care - they hate the bill! How do I know they have healthcare and are well off? Well the father, a small busines owner, says he will have to consult his accountant to see how it is going to affect him and he is worried it may hurt him. Guess he didn't hear about the small business tax credits that go into effect this year. Then we heard from Bill McCollum from Florida (attorney general running for governor - this should help him I guess) about the 13 Attorney General lawsuits against the bill. That was IT. That was their comprehensive coverage of the new law tonight. Pathetic!
All in all, I was disgusted by the coverage. I would have expected this from FOX but not NBC. Please voice your displeasure over today's 6:30pm episode 3/23.10 by contacting them and complaining.

Please go to their website and complain and ask them to do a better job of educating the public what the new health care bill means for the average American citizen.
