Teabaggin' Road Rage Fail
Today in south Indianapolis, I had a bizarre experience with a teagaggin' fool. It was a beautiful Saturday, and time to buy a lawnmower that wouldn't break down-time for a Honda. So I'm in in the left turn lane waiting for a chance to cross three lanes of busy traffic. Behind me was an old and massive pick up truck that was riding my bumper. The old white dude was gesticulating wildly, so I wondered if I'd missed a turn signal, but nope, just a normal green. I pulled up a bit, and he accelerated and hit the brakes. I didn't get this, and it was dangerous, so I pointed to the three lanes of oncoming traffic and informed him that I couldn't just pull out in front of all those cars. Plus my son was in the car.
Then the fool showed his hand. He saw my Obama sticker and started screaming something like, "You're for Obama! You're for Obama!" and some other spittle. By this time, I was annoyed, and ended the "conversation" with, "You're an idiot."
I admit, I didn't feel good about it, and my son was really annoyed, saying that I had to let stuff like that go. But this was dangerous. The dude was nearly pushing me into the intersection, and besides he was so truly stupid.
Here's the thing, I wrote a diary that make the rec list about this area during the election. In it I talk about the predominance of low-information voters who are barely scraping by and yet are all Rushed-out to vote Republican. Then I started to encounter folks who destroyed my preconceptions-like another old white dude in Ford 150 at the recyling station with an "Impeach Bush" bumper sticker. So I was prepared to suspend my profiling of particular old white dude in a massive pick-up. Then he confirmed the worst possible stereotype.
So here's the conclusion. I think my parting words to the old fool were just right. Why? Because there is a resurgence of the same stupid current during the Cheney/Bush disaster. These clowns are the ones who will benefit most from the Obama health-care bill, yet they're partying like it was 2004. The fool probably was on Medicare and had his freaking donut-hole fixed.
But we're in power now, and no matter how you feel about the progressiveness, or lack of it, of the President's administration, he's our man. First, we are the adults. Second, did this clown expect me to turn into three lanes of oncoming traffic? Let's see if I get this: He thought that because I supported Obama, I wasn't stupid enough to drive directly into traffic? Duh!!! Third, NO MORE MR. NICE GUY to these fools. They need to learn that we don't back down from their attempts at intimidation. Let's face it, the fool was fragile and even I could've cleaned his clock if he was stupid enough to get out of the truck. But he backed off immediately after I made the turn safely and wouldn't make eye contact.
No backing down. He was an idiot, and I feel that he needed to know it. The liberal wimp stereotype of the fools ends now.
