Lieberman's lack of loyalty isn't a surprise for the DailyKos community at all. For years now, Lieberman is showing his true colors. But of course, Dems in the Senate still don't seem to get the memo on traitor. Last year, they had the opportinuty to kick him out of the dem caucus but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, with then President-Elect Barack Obama, decided to forgive him even though Lieberman campaigned despites Dems' opposition for John McCain and Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential campaign.
Guess how Joe Lieberman is thanking his dems colleagues ? By stabbing them in the back. Reported by The Hill's Michael O'Brien, Senator Joe Lieberman gave an interview to the right-wing magazine Newmax expressing his feelings on GOP's supposed comeback.
Remember this guy caucuses with Democrats. Here some quotes from his interview :
"There were a lot of people, particularly Democrats, who were declaring after the 2008 election that we were beginning a period of Democratic dominance that would go on for decades," [...]
"Now, all of a sudden, the momentum is with the Republicans. And that's -- thank God -- that's the way people have spoken, you know? That's our democracy."
Maybe Joe Lieberman should grow some balls and leave the dem cause in order to join the GOP caucus. Oh wait ! Lieberman only want to caucus with the majority party in the senate. We can guess that as long Demacrats keep the control of the senate with over 50 votes, Lieberman won't leave the caucus. I bet he will pull a Shelby if in november, by miracle, republicans take the control of the senate.
He goes on to say :
"If the election were held today, there's no question that there'd be significant Republican gains in Congress,"
He didn't stop there. Our favorite traitor gave some props to Sister Palin. Why should we be surprised ? Did he said in 2008 that Palin was more qualified than President Barack Obama?
"I do disagree with her on some of the specifics that she has said, but I think anybody who underestimates Sarah Palin as a political force in America does so at some peril, because she is speaking for a lot of people out there," [...]"I don’t know what her future is, but I’m just saying everybody should listen."
Maybe Lieberman didn't get the memo that after Brown's win, he became irrelevant ?
