The question is what was his point? The fabric of this nation is weft with a strong Black steely thread. Although African Americans can identify with the term "Minority" being applied to both sets of the sub-culture, in reality the history and similarities are not aligned. Without going through every detail this is just an obvious fact. From this view point every immigrant that enters the country illegally should be sent back to border to start again. They should register apply for a visa and get in line. Just because they have been here for 10 years does not give them any more rights that the person who traveled from any where else on the globe to be part of this country. So let it be clear. There is a process and just because you live next door doesn't give you special rights to impede and ignore our laws.
Laws and the obeying of them, is how societies turn chaos into order. Let's take traffic laws for instance. If everyone decided that traffic laws didn't apply to them and they didn't stop at stop signs or red lights or decided to drive on what ever side of the street they wanted or in any direction on a highway, it is easy to see that Driving would be extremely dangerous and chaotic. We have laws to regulate the flow of individuals into and out of the country. On our southern border with Mexico there is no control it is simply chaos. It has nothing to do with the color of your skin Mr. Rodriguez it has to do with the laws which I'm sure you respect.
(P.S. Robert Menendez also spoke about the price of orange juice and tomatoes going up without cheap Mexican labor. When politicians start talking like that, it is an insult to everyone. Please Mr. Menendez think before you speak. There are no orange trees here but there are Illegals to be sure..... )
